Citrimax Gold is used in citrus crops, particularly soft citrus, to increase both average fruit size and total yield. The product is applied post-flowering to the developing citrus fruits.

Citrimax Gold causes a direct increase in fruit size by affecting the elasticity of the plant cell wall, resulting in increased cell elongation. Trials have shown that citrimax applications result in the production of larger fruits which increases yields and fruit quality whilst reducing the costs of harvesting and grading. The grower is likely to achieve reduced fruit rejection due to fewer smaller, lower value fruits at harvesting.
